A well-known Asian bank with international networks and a strong lending balance-sheet seeks Taiwanese and Korean coverage corporate bankers to be based in Singapore.
With its regional team based out of Singapore and reporting directly to headquarters, this position provides the incumbent with an opportunity to be strongly involved in a team with a regional perspective and ambitions to further expand its regional market-share.
As the incumbent, you will be responsible for expanding and originating business with either Taiwanese-based or Korean-based clients respectively. This will involve you fronting the bank and marketing the bank's services to a broad range of Taiwanese / Korean-based clients and/or regional clients.
Key Requirements
- Senior Corporate Banker: at least eight years' corporate banking experience
- Corporate Banker: at least three to four years' corporate banking experience
- Prior corporate banking experience handling Taiwanese / Korean corporate clients is required.
- Experience managing individual revenue targets is important.
- A strong understanding of credit and the credit approval process is important.
- The ability to business develop and introduce NTB clients to the bank is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely in a team are required.
- Candidates based overseas with experience handling Taiwanese / Korean clients are invited to apply.
- Language capabilities: it is important that you are effective bilingual in English and Mandarin (for Taiwanese client coverage) / Korean (for Korean client coverage).
CV writing tip - do include the following information in your CV:
- Portfolio specialisation - ie. average annual turnover of clients and any industry / geographical segmentation (if relevant)
- Targets currently and previously held, together with a percentile indication of targets achieved.
- Product familiarly and focus / specialisation if relevant (e.g. corporate lending, transaction banking, syndications, project finance, real estate financing, shipping finance and/or capital markets (ECM / DCM) products)
- Level of involvement in the credit documentation and approval phase.
- Case studies of experience in pitching for new deals and/or NTB clients if relevant.
