Companies Focus on Cost Cutting and Look to RPO Services to Deliver Strategic Benefits in 2011
United Kingdom
2011 will see organisations continue their focus on cutting costs in the face of challenging economic conditions, according to Resource Solutions' first Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) Insights report.
Oliver Harris, CEO at Resource Solutions, part of the Robert Walters Group, says:
"Cost levels were under scrutiny in 2010 and this will continue throughout 2011. However, we're seeing that companies also want RPO to deliver strategic benefits, such as improving the quality of hires, reducing attrition or reducing headcount from high cost cities and building up teams in locations with lower labour costs."
The report also predicts that an increasing number of global organisations are likely to consider purchasing RPO services on a multinational basis, Harris says. "Companies that have seen the benefits of RPO across part of their business are now looking to replicate that throughout the rest of their locations."
"However, this is not without its challenges - whether from different service requirements, regional or cultural nuances or methodologies that are not uniform throughout the organisation. In our experience, a 'one size fits all' approach is rarely the answer."
Resource Solutions' RPO Insights report is the result of in-depth interviews with the company's RPO account directors working in over 40 locations around the world.
