We are looking for an Accounting Specialist for a global Asset Management company located in Madrid.

Mission of the Area where the position exists:

The “Investments accounting and reporting” team is part of the Operations Asset Management Department which is responsible for the operationalization of the Organization strategic ambitions, the continuous development of an innovative operating model and achieving a high level of efficiency in the processes. In addition, the department is also responsible for the integration of suitable compliance and risk management frameworks, monitoring the regulatory landscape and supporting in legal matters. Within the “Investments accounting and reporting” team, the main mission is to provide high quality of investments accounting data of all the Group companies to the rest of the Asset Management division and the Organization and to help ensuring the compliance according to IFRS.

Providing support to the Group's financial officers and Group companies form the Investments accounting department
Interface function between Asset Management and Group Finance
Active participation in various technical projects
Determination of asset class classifications and accounting logics in SAP and Aladdin (own and third-party ledger)
Reconciliations and data preparation in the area of IFRS-compliant financial statements

Training, competences, profile skills of the candidates

University degree in business administration, economics, business or similar and more than 5 years of work experience is required.
Advanced knowledge of investment accounting and experience in group consolidation processes
Knowledge of IFRS9 regulations is highly valued
Knowledge of SAP and Aladdin tool (from Blackrock) is highly valued
Analytical and results oriented person
Entrepreneurial mindset with good communication skills
Innovative person with eagerness to face challenges
Languages: Good level of English, knowledge of Spanish or German would be an asset
Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel

Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position
Experience in working with databases is a must.

Responsibilities/Main Functions

Central interface function for group companies' accounting issues in relation to IFRS17/9, as well as local GAAP for Spain.
Ensuring the correct application of the accounting frameworks in relation to IFRS9 and managing any changes to the standards (in particular in relation to the SPPI, Levels and Liquidity test).
Collaboration in concept development, implementation support and compliance monitoring of innovations (IFRS, new products, etc.)
Preparation of data for IFRS reporting, support in consolidation of investment results and subsequent presentation to the Group, ensuring data quality
Leading projects or initiatives to make changes to the data model or regulatory frameworks to comply with regulations
Prepare concepts for changes in regulations, and support in the resulting implementations (as well as in testing)
