Insurance Division at Robert Walters, is looking for a Business Technical Accountant for a major reinsurer.
French is a must.
The incumbent will interact with members of the various teams that integrate the French market as well as the financial teams, to ensure that all French-speaking matters are handled accurately, in a timely manner and in accordance with the conditions, rights and obligations treaties.
Key duties and responsibilities:
• In coordination with subscribers, ensure the updating of reinsurance treaty contractual data in our OMEGA 2 tool
• Monitor, analyze and record reinsurance accounts received from clients/agents/brokers
• Check that the accounting data complies with the contractual conditions, by discussing with the client and/or the subscriber
• Analyze and verify premium and claims slips (risks covered, premiums paid, etc.), in collaboration with the UW& Claims medical and financial team when necessary
• Analyze the consistency of the amounts received, and in particular technical provisions with the help of the tools at our disposal, in conjunction with the Underwriting and Actuarial department when necessary
• Manage technical regulations sent and received
• Record accounting and financial flows in the dedicated OMEGA2 system. Prepare and update treaty projections in accordance with the requirements of IFRS17 using our NS MIND tool.
• Improve the financial situation by analyzing results: monitor deviations, identify trends, recommend actions to management and subscribers
• Manage individual data in dedicated systems (LIRAS, HELIOS). Develop a cooperative relationship with the client, to ensure resolution of technical accounting issues
• Assist in managing and resolving technical accounting questions and problems through research and interaction with underwriters and actuaries. Launch the necessary alerts, effectively communicate the status of problems to all teams
• Participate and collaborate in the management of internal controls (ICS) of technical accounting
• Contribute to quarterly closings by managing priorities: updating final projections, analysis of variations, explanations of differences, etc.
• Assist in responding to internal and external audit requests, as required, in a timely manner
• Participate in ongoing process improvement efforts – identify opportunities to increase operational efficiencies
• Perform, if applicable, other tasks that may be entrusted to him within the framework of the position
Required skills and experience:
• 5 years of experience or junior financial analyst or junior actuary
• French is a must. High English level
• Problem solving, process improvement, needs analysis, financial skills
• Be a good team player, be willing to work with others and have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, and ideally Business Object or SAP Web Intelligence
