Excellent opportunity as a Head of Operations based in Madrid in a well know global Broker with offices in Iberia.
About the role:
Responsible for the day to day operations of Iberia; ensuring the entity meets its legal and regulatory obligations and adheres to policies, procedures, systems and controls.
As a Head of Operations Iberia, you will deliver key strategic projects both at local and group level, acting as main operational point of contact; ensuring the entity has efficient, robust operational plans and structure in place to support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Partner with UK Operations, IT and Compliance including appointed third party representatives on projects as required. Ensure implementation of and adherence to Group operational policies and procedures. Ensure robust M.I. process is in place to enable effective monitoring and reporting of performance. Liaise with UK IT and Operations to ensure client sales initiatives are implemented and serviced efficiently.
Ensure maintenance of high operational standards, minimising risks and E&O exposure. Ensure the comapny adheres to its legal & compliance obligations both from internal and external standpoint. Review emerging legislation and regulatory changes in the relevant jurisdictions. Identify and manage potential E&Os and raise with UK Compliance. Review, sign off and file business agreements with third parties. Train employees relating to processes, procedures, and mandatory standards.
Functional & Behavioural Competencies required:
Minimum of 5 years working in an operations role, ideally with compliance or legal experience. Self starter with excellent communication skills. (Re)insurance knowledge an advantage. Understanding of DGS regulation and legislation requirements. Understanding of risk principles and philosophy an advantage. Diligent with attention to detail with the ability to work on a number of projects concurrently. Strong business acumen and technical credibility. Ability to exercise challenge, as appropriate.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships within and across the Group. Fluent in Spanish and English.
