ANALISTA DE MERCADO SENIOR (GAS & POWER)

A multinational gas and energy giant is seeking to hire an engineer or professional with experience in the natural gas sector or the energy industry for the position of SENIOR MARKET ANALYST (EU, US, ASIA) – NG/LNG/POWER. The main role will include, among other things, Maximizing the company's profitability through the effective management of gas buying and selling operations and managing the coverage of associated risks through derivative transactions (financial hedging). This involves assessing the supply and demand, gas prices, market conditions, and other relevant factors based in MADRID.

DEPARMENT MISSION
Gather, analyze, and translate market data and trends into strategic information to support commercial decision-making. Establishing the price curve and conducting stress testing to ensure a commercial strategy aligned with the business and
competitive against other players.

FUNCTIONS
➢Market analysis:
•Monitor gas market conditions comprehensively, analyzing supply, demand, prices, and competition.
•Identify potential shifts in the market and anticipate future scenarios effectively.
•Provide insights and recommendations to adapt strategies proactively.

•Collect and analyze relevant information from various sources to gain a deep understanding of market dynamics.
•Gather government reports, economic analyses, and commercial transaction data.

•Assess and analyze the complex forces influencing the gas market comprehensively.
•Understand the interactions between supply, demand, pricing, competition, and regulatory changes effectively.
•Provide strategic insights into geopolitical events and other factors impacting the trading environment.

•Maintain and update price curves for specific products accurately, enabling a profound understanding of market trends.
•Analyze pricing data meticulously to identify opportunities and risks in the market.
➢Stress testing:
•Conduct comprehensive stress tests to evaluate the resilience of strategies and positions to adverse scenarios thoroughly

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
➢Education
•University degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
➢Skills
•Proficient knowledge of gas market dynamics, including comprehensive understanding of supply and demand factors, geopolitical influences, regulatory changes, and technology trends.
•Advanced ability to collect, interpret, and analyze large datasets related to gas production, distribution, pricing, and trends using analytical and statistical tools.
•Advanced application of mathematical and statistical models for projecting trends, assessing risks, and understanding market behavior.
•Advanced skills in market analysis, conducting in-depth research, and generating accurate forecasts based on gathered information and developed models.
