Strategically located next to the Stellantis Plant in Zaragoza, Spain, the Gigafactory will produce next-generation lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries with a capacity of up to 50 GWh.

We are looking for a Fire Protection Engineer, who will ensure the Plant’s fire safety compliance by developing fire protection programs, leading emergency readiness and supporting permitting processes. This role will coordinate building reviews, manage emergency response capabilities and serve as a key interface with authorities, consultants and internal stakeholders on all fire safety matters.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Participating in the review of building demands and building design.
- Leading the building acceptance review once the construction is completed and driving the implementation of corrective actions.
- Working with SEVESO experts to obtain SEVESO permit, if applicable.
- Developing the fire safety program and holding related departments accountable for its implementation.
- Developing and implementing emergency procedures and crisis management systems.
- Building up the emergency response team with necessary qualification, skills and equipment.
- Planning and conducting emergency drills.
- Developing and implementing fire safety trainings.
- Initiating and conducting regular fire protection-related inspections and actions.
- Establishing and managing the plant’s fire brigade.
- Participating in the selection of the firefighting system maintenance contractors and working with FOM to verify proper maintenance execution.
- Coordinating with external consultants and insurance providers.
- Providing consultancy on all fire safety-related matters.
- Supporting the Security Director in maintaining the security management program and related activities.
- Preparing and submitting safety reports required by authorities.
Your profile and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and /or fire-safety-related field.
- Good level of English (B2 minimum). Fluent in Spanish
- At least 3 years of experience, ideally in the industrial o automotive sectors. Experience in working with an in-house fire brigade is a must.
- Knowledge in fire protection, fire extinguishing and signaling systems.
- Availability to work on-site at our facilities based in Figueruelas (Zaragoza)
