At Robert Walters, we are looking for a Public Function for an international industrial company based in Zaragoza. This is a unique opportunity to join a strategic project with strong growth potential and international projection.

Job responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a robust public funding strategy for industrial investments in Spain, aligning with business objectives and sustainability goals.
• Design and structure governance processes for public funding, ensuring full compliance with Spanish and European regulations.
• Lead the identification and selection of the most beneficial funding opportunities, evaluating financial feasibility and strategic alignment.
• Ensure seamless coordination between internal departments, facilitating communication and collaboration across multiple corporate functions.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of funding applications, ensuring high-quality, compliant proposals that maximize funding potential.
• Monitor regulatory developments in Spanish and European public funding programs, adapting internal processes accordingly.
• Ensure financial governance and auditing of public funds, maintaining full transparency and compliance throughout the funding lifecycle.
• Foster strong relationships with government bodies and funding authorities, advocating for the company’s interests and long-term funding success in Spain.
• Train and support internal teams, building in-house expertise in managing public funding processes effectively.

Academic requirements: Master’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Years of experience: Minimum 5/7 years of experience in public funding management, preferably in large multinational companies with industrial operations.

Knowledge and skills:

• Expertise in European and Spanish public funding regulations, including industrial incentives, Capex, and R&D Manufacturing funding programs.
• Strategic governance and process design, ensuring efficient management of public funding initiatives.
• Experience in multinational corporate environments, managing funding processes within large, complex organizations.
• Cross-functional leadership, working with Finance, Legal, R&D, Tax, HR, and Operations to ensure smooth execution of funding strategies.
• Stakeholder engagement and institutional negotiation, with a strong ability to liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.
• Risk management skills to identify and mitigate risks associated with public funding.
• Financial governance and audit expertise, ensuring public funds are used efficiently, aligned with corporate financial policies, and compliant with regulations.
• Project management and analytical skills, with a focus on impact assessment, KPI tracking, and strategic reporting.
• Adaptability and continuous learning to stay updated with evolving public funding regulations.
• Experience with digital tools and platforms for funding management to leverage technology in managing public funding processes.
• Ability to build and structure the public funding function from the ground up, defining best practices and ensuring long-term operational efficiency

Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English.
