Global Operations Category Manager - Chemical sector

An excellent Global Operations Category Manager role has become available at an important Chemical multinational Company in Barcelona. In this strategic position, as a Global Operations Category Manager, you will report to the Global Procurement Head and will drive the operations category spend and projects local and globally.

Key functions:

• Manage Operations category spend: managing of all global supplier contracts covering goods and services (MRO, machinery, installations, industrial supplies, engineering, energy and construction services).

• Defines proactively sourcing strategy for each spending category together with the internal stakeholders. Secures best Optimal Total Cost of Ownership, compliance with company policies for Procurement, Sustainability, Code of Conduct etc.

• Ongoing Spend Management: Defines roadmap of tendering process and secures best possible agreements under the consideration of Total Cost of Ownership. Drives continuous improvement on payment terms and conditions. Ensures compliance to defined company policies for Procurement and Sustainability.

• Improvement Projects: Drive/support pipeline of projects of the category for continuous improvement. Keep track of supply market improvements and facilitate the incorporation of best practices.

With a degree in Engineering or Business Administration, you will provide more than 10 years of experience as Global Category Manager in industrial company. It is mandatory to speak fluent English and Spanish and to be SAP key user.

To successfully fulfil the role, you will have to demonstrate Internal client oriented, financial and analytical skills, negotiation skills, project management, organizational and planning global capabilities.
