Depending on the Head of R&VIS Engineering, the ROBOTICS & VISION ENGINEER TEAM LEADER acts as technical expert and is responsible for leading a team of Robotics and Vision Engineers during the offline programming phase, as well as during the machinery debug and the project acceptance in customer facilities., according the timing, budget and quality of the projects assigned. S/he provides effective guidance, direction and leadership to the team; supervises their activities with a close follow-up; and generates opportunities to be effective beyond own team.

STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the Robotics and Visions engineering team according to the different phases of the assigned projects (concept development, offline programming , debug and customer’s acceptance).
• Perform and lead the concept development and offline programming, according the timing and budget and upon the project scope and specifications.
• Participate in design reviews with customer to provide the latest technical solutions.
• Perform and lead FAT & SAT functional tests of production lines for automotive industry.
• Collaborate in quotations development, providing support to other departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Perform the concept development of the Robotic & Vision system in order to obtain the best quality, cost, customer approach and deadline.
• Develop and program industrial, collaborative or mobile robotics systems, mainly using FANUC, KUKA, ABB or STAUBLI platforms.
• Develop and program 2D and 3D Vision systems, with tools based on rules, edge learning or deep learning, in embedded or PC-based systems.
• Work together with the Mechanical design team to achieve an adequate integration of the robotic systems within the production line.
• Perform and review the commissioning of Robotics and Vision systems.
• Lead the Robotic and Vision engineering team to test the different robot sequences (automatic, manual, audits and calibrations, etc).
• Review that the different equipment is installed correctly.
• Perform and lead the acceptance of FAT and SAT tests of industrial production lines.
• Development of Machine Manuals, technical reports and other documentation (English).
• Development of internal Standards in software, hardware and documentation.
• Participate in innovation projects to provide cutting-edge and strategic technological solutions in the projects.
• Provide OEE improvements and troubleshoot of the complete Robotic and Vision systems.
• Other tasks to help to improve the efficiency of the Robotics and Vision Engineering team.
• Collaborate proactively to integrate innovative technological solutions and deliver added value to our customers.
• Coach and train junior or new team members.
• Collaborate proactively with Sales & Marketing department preparing quotes or customer visits where s/he can add value, knowledge or better understand of customer needs.
• Create positive impact to all stakeholders (customers, suppliers, partners, internal organization, etc.) by sharing Airtificial’s strong brand values, essence, philosophy, heritage, way of doing, purpose, value proposition, etc.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• High knowledge of Robotics and Vision systems programming. Previous experience in programming tools of FANUC, KUKA, ABB, STAUBLI, COGNEX.
• Must be proficient with Robotic Path Teaching and have wide experience in robot simulation
• Knowledge of automation systems, industrial fieldbuses and programming languages.
• Knowledge of industrial electricity and capable of understanding electrical diagrams
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Resolutive person, self-starter and team player
• Full availability to travel
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE:

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics Engineering or equivalent vocational training
• Complementary technical education / certificates will be positively valued
• Master’s Degree in Mechanics, Industrial Equipment or related field will be a plus
• 7+ years of experience as a Robotics and Vision Engineer
• 4+ years of experience in team leadership positions
• Desirable experience with assembly lines within international automotive companies
