Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Engineer

Our client is an aerospace global supplier of high performance aerospace systems for Space, Defense and Science. We are seeking for several engineering roles in Madrid office. The candidate will play a key role in designing, building and testing a UAV demonstration testbed for innovative autonomous functions, all within an international cooperation European framework. The candidate will be involved in the full development and testing cycle of the UAV ranging from architecture/systems definition to field/flight testing campaigns.

Duties

• Review of engineering and technical documentation to ensure compliance of industrial team to system needs and requirements.

• Analysis of UAS/UAV functional and operational requirements

• Translation of operational, performance and functional requirements into specific UAS/UAV designs

• Participation in the definition and conduction of UAS/UAV flight test scenarios

• Participation in the definition and conduction of innovative autonomous UAS function in field tests

• Participation in co-engineering with national and international partners

Competences

• 2-3 years of experience in UAS/UAV Design and Operations

• UAS/UAV Systems Engineering

• Knowledge of UAS/UAV design (flight physics, system design, structural design)

• Experience in UAS/UAV development and integration would be an asset

• Experience in UAS operation and field/flight testing would be an asset

• Experience in UAS/UAV autopilot design would be an asset

• Experience in UAS/UAV communication systems would be an asset

• Knowledge of airworthiness & safety regulations and processes to obtain permits to fly both in civil and military (CAE) environment would be an asset

• CAD/CAM/CAE would be an asset
• FEA/FEM would be an asset
• Programming in Python would be an asset
• Programming in MATLAB would be an asset
