Senior Data Analyst (Contractor)

Description As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Data Catalog, guaranteeing that data governance principles are correctly applied and adopted across the organization. You will work closely with business teams, data analysts, and information architects to develop and implement standards for cataloguing, classification, and documentation of data, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. Key Responsibilities * Implement and maintain a data catalog, ensuring its updates and alignment with business objectives. * Define and apply data classification rules, ensuring their proper implementation across different systems and data sources. * Create and maintain a Business Glossary based on existing documentation and organizational data analysis. * Manage and analyze various types of data to identify Critical Data Elements (CDEs). * Collaborate with technical and business teams to promote best practices in data governance and ensure their adoption. * Document processes, standards, and data rules, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders. * Act as a mentor for Data Analysts, guiding them in the use of best practices in Data Governance. * Support the implementation of data governance strategies aligned with regulatory and operational requirements. * Work with multidisciplinary teams to resolve issues related to data quality and management.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis and data governance.
• Previous experience in implementing and managing data catalogs using tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms.
• Experience in managing data classification rules and defining Business Terms.
• Deep knowledge of data governance principles, data quality, and best practices in documentation and standardization.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in data modeling and methodologies for Data Governance and MDM implementation.
• Practical knowledge of Python, REST APIs (programming), SQL, and query languages for data analysis and validation.
• Familiarity with tools for integration and transformation of data (ETL, Data Pipelines).
• Understanding of Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration (CD/CI) pipelines to automate workflows related to data processing and governance tasks.
• Understanding of data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Experience in mentoring and providing technical leadership within data analysis teams.
