2 Senior Data Analyst (Contractor)
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Data Catalog and supporting the end-to-end rollout of a new Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data solution. You will play a key role in guaranteeing that data governance principles are correctly implemented and adopted across the organization. This role requires close collaboration with global business teams, vendors, data analysts, and information architects to define standards for cataloging, classification, documentation, and master data management. You will support the Proof of Concept (POC) for MDM vendors (Profisee, CluedIn), participate in the creation and validation of Golden Records, and ensure a smooth transition from the POC phase into production. This new MDM and Reference Data solution will be integrated with the Data Catalog, expanding the scope of your responsibilities and impact on data governance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Data Catalog, ensuring continuous updates, enhancements, and alignment with business needs.

Drive the implementation of the new MDM and Reference Data solution, supporting the full lifecycle from evaluation to production deployment.

Execute the Proof of Concept (POC) with MDM vendors (Profisee, CluedIn), coordinating activities, validating capabilities, and documenting results.

Create, validate, and maintain Golden Records, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with business rules.

Validate POC results, identify gaps, propose improvements, and collaborate with global stakeholders during the evaluation and adoption phase.

Support the transition of the MDM solution from POC to production environment, ensuring correct configuration, data flows, and operationalization.

Ensure correct integration between the MDM solution and the Data Catalog, maintaining alignment of metadata, reference data, and governance standards.

Define and apply data classification rules, ensuring their correct implementation across systems and data sources.

Create and maintain the Business Glossary, synthesizing existing documentation and organizational knowledge.

Diagnose, identify, and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs).

Collaborate with technical and business teams to promote best practices in data governance, MDM, and data quality.

Document processes, standards, governance models, workflows, and data rules, ensuring clarity and accessibility.

Mentor Data Analysts and support the broader organization in adopting data governance and MDM practices.

Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve data quality, lineage, governance, and master data integrity.

Develop and maintain data pipelines, including automation of workflows using CD/CI pipelines for governance and MDM processes.

Support the implementation of data governance strategies aligned with regulatory, security, and operational requirements.
Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis and data governance.

Experience implementing and managing data catalogs using tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica, or equivalent.

Previous hands-on work with data classification rules, glossary management, or business terms definition.

Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and documentation best practices.

Experience participating in or implementing MDM initiatives is highly valued.
Technical Skills

Proficiency in data modeling and methodologies for Data Governance and MDM implementation.

Practical experience in Python, REST APIs, SQL, and query languages for data validation and analysis.

Hands-on experience creating and maintaining data pipelines (not only understanding), including CI/CD pipelines for automated workflows.

Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data integration tools, and data transformation frameworks.

Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership within data analysis or data governance teams.
