• Plan and maintain infrastructure within Big Data and Software environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability across all platforms.
• Mentor, support, and coach colleagues as well as Data Scientists and Engineers on Big Data and Data Engineering topics to foster knowledge sharing and collaborative growth.
• Identify opportunities to automate tasks and monitoring systems to continuously improve operational efficiency and system resilience.
• Design and prepare Big Data platforms for machine learning applications and data processing in production environments, enabling robust analytics capabilities.
• Document developed solutions thoroughly while maintaining consistency of information across systems for transparency and ease of maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with architects and developers to help create future-ready platforms that meet evolving business needs.
• Work alongside Big Data and Software engineers to understand applications and services deeply so they run smoothly without interruption.
• Resolve engineering problems and incidents swiftly by applying technical expertise in troubleshooting containers, virtual machines, databases, and cloud environments.
• Develop scripts and tools that automate deployment tasks while monitoring critical aspects of operations for proactive issue resolution.
• Ensure infrastructure is resilient against failures while optimising efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.

Your proven experience as a Senior DevOps SRE will be evident through your deep technical expertise in containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. You bring advanced skills in Linux administration, coupled with proficiency in scripting languages, which empower you to automate complex deployment processes efficiently. Your background includes hands-on involvement with virtualisation tools—enabling seamless management of containers and VMs—and orchestration platforms like Openshift or Rancher. Experience deploying solutions within cloud environments such as AWS or Azure further highlights your adaptability across modern IT landscapes. You possess practical knowledge of both NoSQL (Redis) and SQL (MySQL/Microsoft SQL Server) databases, which supports robust data handling capabilities. Exposure to Apache Nifi adds value by streamlining big data workflows.
