Data Services Manager and Site Lead – Barcelona

Guardar

A leading industrial data services organisation is seeking a Site Lead for its Greater Barcelona location, offering you the opportunity to shape both operational excellence and data-driven innovation.

This senior role uniquely blends the management of a high-performing analytics centre with the operational oversight of the site, ensuring alignment with global standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will be at the heart of international stakeholder engagement, resource planning, and talent development, making this position ideal for those who thrive in communal environments and are passionate about nurturing teams. The organisation is committed to providing flexible working opportunities, generous pension contributions, and ongoing training to support your professional growth. If you are looking for a role where your interpersonal skills and supportive leadership can make a lasting impact, this is your chance to join a networked team that values inclusivity and knowledge sharing.

What you'll do:

As Site Lead – Data Services and Operations in Greater Barcelona, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing both the analytics centre’s output and the operational integrity of the site. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve supervising diverse teams engaged in data analysis projects while ensuring that all deliverables meet stringent quality standards. You will coordinate closely with global colleagues on resource planning and capacity management to optimise workflows. By championing continuous improvement initiatives across productivity and efficiency metrics, you will help drive sustainable growth. Your commitment to developing talent through structured training programmes will ensure technical sustainability for years to come. Acting as a central point of contact for international stakeholders from various departments—including Analytics, QA, Software Development, People & Culture—you will facilitate seamless communication and collaboration. Upholding safety protocols and compliance requirements will be integral to maintaining a dependable workplace culture that supports both individual achievement and collective success.

  • Supervise all Data Services activities at the Barcelona site, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery across multiple projects.
  • Act as the primary Site Lead for Barcelona, maintaining overall site performance and operational readiness while adhering to corporate standards.
  • Coordinate capacity planning and resource allocation in collaboration with global teams such as Planning, Quality Assurance, and other Analysis Centres.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality enhancement, efficiency gains, and margin optimisation.
  • Develop and mentor Managers, Team Leads, and senior technical staff by promoting growth leadership and succession planning within the site.
  • Ensure robust training programmes and competency development initiatives are implemented to sustain technical excellence at the site.
  • Monitor key metrics related to team performance and operational outcomes to ensure targets are met or exceeded consistently.
  • Serve as the main communication point for global stakeholders in Analytics, QA, Software Development, People & Culture, and Global Operations.
  • Foster a strong culture of safety, compliance, and quality throughout all site operations by setting clear expectations and modelling best practices.

What you bring:

Your experience as Data Services or Similar IT Lead and Operations will demonstrate not only technical competence but also exceptional interpersonal skills. You bring deep experience from operations-focused roles within technology or engineering sectors where collaborative problem-solving was key. Having managed managers or led business units before, your approach is grounded in empathy—helping others grow through mentoring rather than directive leadership. Your familiarity with global matrix structures means you excel at building interdependent networks that share knowledge freely. Experience launching new sites or stabilizing existing ones shows your reliability under pressure.

  • A degree in Technology, Engineering, Operations Management, Economics or related fields provides you with foundational knowledge essential for this role.
  • A Master’s qualification (MBA/EMBA) is highly valued as it demonstrates advanced understanding of business operations.
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in operations environments such as technology services or engineering equips you with practical expertise.
  • Approximately 5 years managing managers or team leads—and experience running a site or business unit—showcases your ability to nurture teams through supportive leadership.
  • Experience working within global matrix organizations enables you to collaborate effectively across cultures and functions.
  • Background in analytics centres or data-driven environments ensures you understand complex project requirements.
  • Previous involvement launching or stabilising operational sites highlights your dependability in challenging situations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams and SharePoint) allows you to connect efficiently with colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools like PowerBI or equivalents supports your analytical decision-making processes.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish at an advanced level ensures smooth communication with local and international stakeholders.

What sets this company apart:

This organisation stands out for its commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every team member feels supported by knowledgeable leaders who value collaboration over competition. Flexible working opportunities allow you to balance professional ambitions with personal well-being while generous pension contributions provide long-term security. Training programmes are designed not just for skill acquisition but also for nurturing future leaders—ensuring that everyone has access to growth pathways regardless of their current role. The company’s focus on safety, compliance, and quality creates a pleasant workplace atmosphere where trust flourishes among colleagues. With strong connections across global departments—from Analytics to People & Culture—you’ll be part of a networked community that shares successes rather than individually. This is an ideal place for those who appreciate communal achievement backed by dependable systems that reward loyalty and commitment.
