  • Shape the commercial direction for EMEA in pharmaceutical packaging, influencing key markets and driving adoption of innovative solutions.
  • Work remotely while engaging with top-tier clients, partners, and industry stakeholders across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
  • Collaborate with knowledgeable teams in Technical, Production, Quality, Regulatory, and Marketing to deliver exceptional customer experiences and market-leading products.

What you'll do:

As an EMEA Sales Director Packaging you will be entrusted with shaping the future of pharmaceutical packaging across multiple regions. Your day-to-day will involve crafting targeted commercial strategies that address evolving market needs while building strong pipelines for business development. You will play a pivotal role in forging strategic alliances with leading OEMs in pharma machinery—opening doors for collaborative innovation. By guiding customers through every stage of their journey—from initial engagement through technical validation to successful product launches—you will ensure their satisfaction while upholding rigorous regulatory standards. Your ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams will be essential as you coordinate complex projects that require input from technical experts through to marketing professionals. Representing your organisation at industry events will further cement its reputation as a trusted partner in pharmaceutical packaging innovation.

  • Define and implement the commercial strategy for EMEA markets by identifying target segments, developing value propositions, and establishing go-to-market approaches tailored to primary and secondary packaging as well as nutraceutical applications.
  • Build and manage a robust business development pipeline by targeting new opportunities within blister films, high-barrier solutions, and other advanced packaging technologies.
  • Identify and nurture strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical machinery original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), such as Uhlmann or Marchesini Group, to accelerate product adoption and foster co-development initiatives.
  • Lead the entire customer journey from opportunity identification through product qualification, homologation processes, technical trial coordination, regulatory compliance alignment, quality assurance integration, commercial launch planning, and scale-up execution.
  • Act as a cross-functional leader by working collaboratively with internal teams including Technical, Production, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Represent the company at major industry events, customer sites, technical trials, and conferences to enhance market visibility and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulatory standards and quality requirements specific to pharmaceutical packaging environments.
  • Support the development of marketing materials and campaigns that effectively communicate product benefits to diverse audiences across EMEA.
  • Monitor competitor activity within the region to identify emerging trends or threats that could impact business objectives.

What you bring:

To excel as an EMEA Sales Director Packaging you will bring deep-rooted expertise from within the pharmaceutical packaging landscape—ideally having worked directly with rigid films or blister solutions. Your familiarity with regulatory demands ensures that all initiatives meet exacting standards for safety and efficacy. A collaborative spirit paired with an entrepreneurial outlook empowers you to spot untapped opportunities while fostering long-term connections across the value chain. Multilingual communication skills are invaluable when navigating diverse markets throughout EMEA; your willingness to travel underscores your commitment to building trust face-to-face. Experience gained at leading film producers or machinery manufacturers gives you unique insights into both product development cycles and end-user requirements. Above all else your ability to unite cross-functional teams around shared goals ensures seamless project execution from concept through commercialisation.

  • Demonstrated experience within the pharmaceutical packaging industry with significant exposure to rigid films or blister application technologies is essential for success in this role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical sector requirements including regulatory frameworks (such as GMP), validation protocols, and stringent quality standards is required.
  • A hands-on approach combined with an entrepreneurial mindset enables you to identify new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships.
  • Proven track record of building strategic partnerships—particularly with machinery OEMs or similar stakeholders—will set you apart from other candidates.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese would be highly advantageous given the regional scope of responsibilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout EMEA for client meetings, technical trials, industry events, and partnership development is necessary.
  • Experience working remotely or managing distributed teams across multiple geographies demonstrates your adaptability in modern work environments.
  • Backgrounds from pharmaceutical film producers, machinery manufacturers or pharma companies/CDMOs—especially those involved in Packaging Engineering or R&D—are particularly valued.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate effectively across departments while maintaining positive relationships with both internal colleagues and external partners.
  • Strong organisational abilities enable you to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders without compromising on quality or timelines.
