Senior Project Manager – Data Governance (CONTRACTOR)

Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Data Governance & Data Platforms Location: Barcelona, Spain (Hybrid) Engagement Type: Freelance / Independent Consultant (Contractor) Duration: 12-month contract Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with strong functional expertise in Data Governance, Data Platforms, Master Data Management (MDM), and Data Transformation initiatives. The selected Contractor will lead the delivery of a key Data Governance program, ensuring alignment between the team, the business and technology stakeholders while driving data quality, compliance, and strategic data enablement across the organization. Key Responsibilities: * Lead end-to-end project delivery of Data Governance initiatives, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget adherence * Drive the implementation and adoption of Data Governance frameworks, policies, and standards * Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data ownership, stewardship, and data quality processes * Oversee MDM and Data Platform initiatives, ensuring integration and alignment with governance objectives * Manage stakeholders at senior levels, facilitating workshops and decision-making forums * Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle * Ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements related to data management * Track and report project progress, KPIs, and outcomes to leadership

Required Experience & Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in Project/Program Management, with a strong focus on data-related initiatives
• Proven experience delivering Data Governance, MDM, and Data Transformation programs
• Strong functional understanding of Data Platforms (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, cloud environments)
• Experience working with cross-functional and international teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Familiarity with data governance tools and frameworks is a plus
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus

Working Model:

• Hybrid setup based in Barcelona
• Full-time engagement (approx. 160 hours/month)
• Immediate availability preferred
