Role Overview We are looking for a Data Governance Specialist to help implement and operationalize governance capabilities that enable trusted enterprise analytics. This role focuses on translating governance frameworks into practical, operational processes — including the implementation of data cataloging, metadata management, lineage practices, and data quality routines. You will work closely with senior data leadership to ensure that enterprise data is trusted, traceable, and consistently available across corporate systems such as CRM, HR, IT, and web platforms. This is an excellent opportunity to build governance foundations in a modern cloud-based environment while contributing to the growth of a data-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain data catalog processes, including dataset onboarding, metadata standards, templates, and glossary support.
- Support data lineage practices by defining required lineage elements and ensuring consistent documentation as systems evolve.
- Translate governance principles into repeatable operational routines, including:
- Critical data element tracking
- Data quality checks coordination
- Issue tracking and resolution follow-up
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a corporate-wide Data Quality framework.
- Support enterprise content classification and labeling initiatives, including taxonomy definition and rollout activities.
- Monitor governance adherence and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technical teams to define data definitions and governance artifacts.
- Promote governance best practices and support adoption across the organization.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality roles.
- Hands-on experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and lineage practices.
- Experience implementing governance processes in real-world environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft data governance ecosystem (experience with Microsoft Purview is a strong plus).
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to drive adoption of governance practices without formal authority.
- Fluent English (C1 level minimum).
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience working in startups or fast-growing organizations.
- Microsoft Azure certifications in the data domain.
- Exposure to Power BI or analytics enablement environments.
- Experience working in international or global teams.
