Data Engineer Director

Requirements The ideal candidate brings deep experience in data platform leadership, enterprise-scale engineering, and cross-functional alignment. You will need: * 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or analytics engineering roles, including 4+ years in senior leadership (Director level or above) * Proven experience leading and scaling large engineering organizations (15+ people), including leadership through other managers or directors * Strong understanding of modern data stack technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, AWS, and GCP, with the ability to guide architecture decisions * Experience delivering platform modernization initiatives such as cloud migration, infrastructure redesign, or tool consolidation * Deep knowledge of data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, data modeling, and analytics enablement practices at enterprise scale * Demonstrated success in cross-functional partnership with business stakeholders, translating ambiguous needs into structured technical solutions * Strong vendor management experience, including SaaS evaluation, contract negotiation, and cost optimization strategies * Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to present strategy, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly * Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth, or transformation environments requiring adaptability and strategic prioritization
