Data Engineer (GCP / Dataplex) Barcelona (Hybrid) | 12-Month Contract

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a leading international company on an exciting 12-month project supporting a global data transformation programme.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining modern data solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), helping to ensure high-quality, reliable and well-governed data across multiple enterprise systems.

You will collaborate with international teams to build scalable data pipelines, integrate business-critical data and contribute to the evolution of the company's data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data integration solutions.
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly Dataplex.
• Integrate data from multiple enterprise applications, including SAP and other business systems.
• Ensure data quality, consistency and governance across the data platform.
• Support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives.
• Analyse technical requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Monitor and optimise existing data pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects and Business stakeholders within an international environment.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Dataplex (highly desirable).
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience building ETL / ELT pipelines.
• Experience with data integration projects.
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms.
