We are seeking a General Manager for a prominent consumer electronics subsidiary based in Madrid. What you'll do:

As General Manager Consumer Electronics based in Madrid, you will play a pivotal role in steering the subsidiary towards sustainable growth by overseeing all commercial operations across Spain and Portugal. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing strategic plans tailored to local market needs, building dependable relationships with key customers and distributors, coordinating marketing initiatives, supervising supply chain processes for optimal efficiency, nurturing a motivated team culture aligned with group values, monitoring financial performance with full P&L accountability, analysing brand positioning to enhance customer satisfaction, ensuring regulatory compliance at every stage of operations, and providing detailed performance reports to international stakeholders. Success in this role requires you to combine your deep understanding of the consumer electronics sector with your ability to connect teams across functions while delivering results that support both local objectives and broader organisational goals.

  • Ensure achievement of revenue, margin, and profitability targets by managing all aspects of business operations within the Spanish subsidiary.
  • Define and execute commercial and operational plans that align with group guidelines, adapting strategies to local market conditions.
  • Analyse market landscape, competitor actions, and retail channel evolution to propose both short- and long-term strategies during review sessions with international leadership.
  • Manage key retail and distribution customers while developing new market opportunities through coordinated local marketing activities.
  • Oversee supply chain, logistics, and operational processes to guarantee safety, efficiency, and high service quality throughout the business unit.
  • Lead and nurture the local team by fostering motivation, engagement, and cultural alignment with the wider group values.
  • Monitor costs and performance with full accountability for financial management and P&L ownership within the business unit.
  • Constantly analyse brand strategy and positioning for consumer electronics brands to maximise customer value and business success throughout product lifecycles.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations as well as group policies by maintaining rigorous governance standards across all functions.
  • Maintain regular alignment with international sales directors and headquarters through accurate reports and performance analysis.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for General Manager Consumer Electronics will bring extensive experience from senior roles within consumer electronics or technology accessory companies. Your background should demonstrate a commitment to collaborative leadership practices that nurture team engagement while supporting organisational objectives. You will possess comprehensive knowledge of retail channels in Spain’s electronic sector along with proven expertise in managing complex business units. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build lasting relationships with customers, distributors, partners, and internal stakeholders alike. A data-driven mindset will allow you to interpret market trends accurately while your sensitivity to local needs ensures effective communication across diverse audiences. Language proficiency in Spanish (native or equivalent) is essential for connecting authentically within the region; fluency in English supports cross-border collaboration; Portuguese adds further value given regional scope. Your track record should reflect responsible financial stewardship through P&L ownership as well as solid people management capabilities that foster motivation within teams.

  • Higher education such as Engineering, Degree in Economics, Business Administration or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
  • Proven experience of more than ten years in general management or sales management within consumer electronics or technology accessories companies is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Spanish retail and distribution market in the electronic sector or FMCG is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative leadership focused on execution, change management, and communal growth is crucial.
  • Solid people management skills combined with proven P&L ownership experience are necessary for success.
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities alongside negotiation skills that support dependable partnerships are expected.
  • A data-driven approach that enables sensible decision-making based on market insights is important.
  • Sensitivity to understand specific needs of the Spanish market will help you connect effectively with customers.
  • Native-level Spanish language proficiency or equivalent is mandatory; fluent English is required; Portuguese language skills are considered advantageous.
