SENIOR GAS/GNL TRADER

A multinational gas and energy giant is seeking to hire an engineer or professional with experience in the natural gas sector or the energy industry for the position of SENIOR NG/LNG TRADER . The main role will include, among other things, Maximizing the company's profitability through the effective management of gas buying and selling operations and managing the coverage of associated risks through derivative transactions (financial hedging). This involves assessing the supply and demand, gas prices, market conditions, and other relevant factors based in MADRID.

FUNCTIONS:
Physical trading
➢Opportunity screening:
•Identify, evaluate and select strategic commercial opportunities on platforms and OTC to maximize organizational success.
➢Deal structuring and valuation:
•Perform technical characterization and exhaustive analysis of operations.
•Analyze and manage risks and profitability of operations, in collaboration with the risk department.
➢Deal execution:
•Lead the execution of trading transactions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
Financial hedging
➢Hedging needs and target price:
•Identify and analyze hedging needs in more detail and set target prices to optimize hedging strategies.
➢Opportunity screening:
•Identify, evaluate and select strategic financial hedging opportunities, considering bilateral contracts and market opportunities.
➢Opportunity valuation:
•Perform detailed assessment of hedging opportunities, evaluating financial implications, potential returns and associated risks.
➢Trade execution:
•Lead the execution of derivative transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in execution.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
➢Education
•University degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
➢Skills
•Proficient knowledge of the gas market, including advanced understanding of supply and demand dynamics, factors influencing gas prices, and geopolitical and economic trends impacting the market
•Advanced ability to analyze financial data and interpret energy company financial reports to assess risk and make decisions based on quantitative analysis.
•Advanced proficiency in working with mathematical and statistical models to understand trends and projections, calculate financial risks, and evaluate strategies.
•Proficiency in trading platforms, data analysis software, and information systems relevant to energy markets, with the ability to utilize these tools effectively.
➢Experience
•Substantial background in products trading, particularly in energy or commodities markets, with significant experience in trade execution and portfolio management
•Demonstrated ability to lead trading activities, manage portfolios effectively, and conduct
comprehensive risk analysis to optimize investment strategies.
